Pink calcite is a variety of calcite that is an opaque stone with a smooth, waxy texture, often exhibiting a rhombohedral crystal structure, and possessing a vitreous to pearly luster; The pink color is caused by tiny inclusions of Manganese, which can range from a light white-pink, to an extremely bold almost violet. Under UV light it emits a radiant pink and is highly soft after due to its fluorescent capabilities much like one of our favorite stones; Hackmanite.
