Labradorite a feldspar mineral in the plagioclase series that is often valued as a gemstone and as ornamental material for its red, blue, or green iridescence. It is primarily composed of calcium and sodium, with aluminum and silicon as key components. It Belongs to the plagioclase feldspar group, which forms a solid solution series between albite (sodium-rich) and anorthite (calcium-rich). The iridescent play of colors known as "labradorescence" is caused by light interference within the crystal structure.
