Collection: October + Samhain + Halloween + Autumn

October is the month when the trees of nature burst forth with color and teach us how to prepare for contemplation, going within, and letting go of that which no longer serves.

You can feel the true liminality of the veil thinning and causing more psychic moments, seeing the unseen, and the feeling of our ancestors and spirit world coming close. This can feel unsettling and a bit chaotic, it is a month of descent, as the time of Samhain comes near. The light is fading, the nights stretch longer, the natural world begins to die back. It is a preparation for the hibernation of winter. The Dark Gods and Goddesses take prominence and support us through this liminal time between the living and the dead. The Morrigan and the Dagda are honored as this is the season when they came together at the river in love. Hekate or Hecate the Witch's Goddess comes into her season.

This is also the time to harvest the roots of your herbs. Dandelion, burdock, yellow dock, liver supporting herbs, the herbs of detoxification, cleansing, and nourishing to the blood.

The Full Moon is in Taurus on the 25th at 10:13 PM. It is called the Hunter's Moon. The name Hunter’s Moon comes from the traditional autumn hunting season in the Northern Hemisphere. By this time of year, the harvest was largely complete, leaving fields more open and making game easier to spot. The bright Full Moon also provided extra evening light for hunting and preparing and preserving meat, medicines, and other food for the coming winter. The Taurus full moon brings energies of solidity, and of rightness; the number in your bank account, the relationship that isn't going anywhere, the body that just wants to feel okay for once.

On the 10th of October is the New Moon at 9:50 am. It will be in Libra, so the energy softens but is still powerful. Libra brings balance, & harmony, to relationships. It is a time to look at what is out of alignment and to restore peace by coming back to your center.

Samhain is October 31st the Celtic New Year. A great time for divination, protection magic, ancestor work, scrying, seeing into the liminal. Dreams are more intense, nature speaks to you, notice the signs of nature and the shifting of the energies of the season.

Check out our Samhain incense and oil to burn and wear throughout the month to bring in the beauty of the season and to bring you closer to those energies.  Check out our special books and decks to work on intentions, ritual, and daily meditations to take you through the month. Blessings on all your magic!
