Rainbow Moonstone is a variety of labradorite, a plagioclase feldspar, not a true moonstone. Its scientific composition is a silicate of aluminum and sodium. It is characterized by a colorless to white body color with a phenomenon called adularescence, where light scattering within its internal layers creates a vibrant, iridescent, and often rainbow-like flash of color that appears to shift across the surface. Can be found in India.
