Rose quartz is a mineral composed of silicon dioxide with trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese, which give it its characteristic pink color. Its cloudy appearance is due to microscopic fibrous inclusions of a pink borosilicate mineral, likely a form of dumortierite. Scientifically, it's a variety of quartz that forms in pegmatite rocks or hydrothermal veins, and its color is stable and not dependent on harmful radiation.
