An Orisha is a spirit that reflects one of the manifestations of God in Africa’s Yoruba religion. Many Orishas have found their way throughout the Americas via the Atlantic slave trade and are now expressed in practices as varied as Santería, Candomblé, Trinidad Orisha, and Oyotunji. Eluggua is a popular Orisha of the Yoruba people. He is a trickster that holds the power over luck and misfortune. He uses this power to afflict people with temptation and difficulties in order for them to mature. He is also the god of the roads and the protector of travelers. He is identified with Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Michael. This statue is beautifully designed, sculpted and handcrafted to the finest detail in cold cast metal (Bronze/pewter) finish.
